| Laura Russell • About My Photographs
Below are a few current projects. Sometimes my photographic projects become artist books, sometimes not, but I am almost always working on several bodies of work. I bought my first camera, a fully manual Canon AT-1 at a yard sale when I was 16 years old. These days I am fully digital and having great fun documenting the urban landscape that we look at every day but never really see.

Summer Camp
This summer I took a weeklong workshop at Visual Studies Workshops in Rochester, New York. The workshop, Photographing the Cultural Landscape with Keith Johnson, changed my world. I started shooting at 6:30 most mornings and worked until Midnight. It was the best summer camp ever! |

Roadside Art•ifacts
Recently I discovered a photograph of an old neon sign in Leadville, Colorado that I took in 1986. Roadside Americana continues to be one of my favorite subjects.
